Who Manufactures Symons Crusher?
Symons cone crushers are widely used in the aggregate and mining industries for their reliability and high-quality end products.
The original Symons cone crusher was developed by manufacturing company Nordberg, Inc. in the 1920s. Nordberg was acquired by Rauma-Repola Oy in 1986, which later merged with Valmet to become Metso Corporation. As a result, Metso became the owner of the Symons brand and began manufacturing Symons cone crushers under their name.
In 2008, FLSmidth acquired the rights to manufacture and sell the Symons cone crusher from Metso Corporation. This meant that FLSmidth became the only authorized manufacturer of genuine Symons crushers and parts. However, existing Symons crushers that were manufactured by Metso or other companies under license could still be sold and serviced.
In 2019, FLSmidth announced that they had sold their crusher business - including the Symons cone crusher brand - to a Finnish company called Outotec. As part of the sale, Outotec acquired the rights to manufacture and sell genuine Symons crushers and parts worldwide. They also took control of FLSmidth's Crusher Service Center network, which provides aftermarket support for Symons crushers and other crusher brands.
